Egyptian Horn Collar

In Peru, cow horn is refuse, a by-product of the beef industry tossed aside.  Shelly Batt takes this fibrous material (made of compressed hair!), and heats it, flattens it, cuts by hand, and shapes it to the collar bone..  Finished with a unique matte look, each plate of horn in this collar is tied by hand with a metalic, industiral look, lending chick to a black turtleneck, a white tee, or a cocktail dress.

Alongside a political prisoner in a Lima jail, Shelly learned and taught the craftwork of horn and design.  When her co-hort was released from prison, she continued to go to the slums of Lima to work, creating a portfolio of singularly gorgeous, one-of-a-kind jewelry for you to treasure.  This piece is utterly unique and new for Charlotte Moss for Ibu.  We can promise you won't see it coming at you down the street.
